The clock movement shown below is an example of how a clock had not been cleaned or serviced for about 80 years.

The pictures show the condition it was in before I started work on it and how it looked after it had been cleaned and serviced.

All the clocks I receive will have the same care and attention as this one did.

As you can see above, the whole movement was covered in oil, WD40 and an accumulation of dirt over the years. This causes the pivot holes to wear and they then need “bushing” to realign them.

PLEASE DO NOT USE WD40 ON CLOCK MOVEMENTS

Believe it or not, this IS the same movement after it was cleaned and serviced. This clock with its new springs, clean and service will probably last another 8o years.
